Choosing a xanthan gum supplier starts with the performance your product needs. A sauce that pours smoothly, a beverage that keeps particles suspended and a dry mix that disperses reliably can require different product characteristics. Manufacturing scale matters, but the right grade and a repeatable qualification process make a supplier shortlist useful.
This guide compares Fufeng Group, Bergano Chemical, Meihua Group, Deosen Biochemical, Jianlong Biotechnology and CP Kelco’s Wulian operation within Tate & Lyle. It covers five manufacturers with production in China and one China-based exporter, showing their product focus and the purchasing needs each can help buyers assess.
Published by Bergano Chemical, which is included as an exporter. This is a sourcing comparison, not an independent ranking or product-performance test. Companies are not scored or ordered by quality. Buying-fit observations are practical interpretations of the cited product ranges and company information.

Compare six manufacturers and suppliers
Fufeng Group
Company role: Fermentation manufacturing group with production facilities in China.
Production or supply focus: Xanthan gum within a broader portfolio of fermentation-derived ingredients.
What distinguishes it: Fufeng’s 2025 annual report reports annual designed xanthan gum capacity of 80,000 tonnes at 31 December 2025. The disclosure provides a dated basis for assessing manufacturing scale.
Buying fit: Buyers qualifying a production group for substantial, recurring xanthan requirements.
Buying details: The producing plant, contracting entity, product code, intended-use grade and current specification. Group capacity should not be treated as available stock or a commitment to a particular order.
Bergano Chemical
Company role: China-based chemical and ingredient exporter.
Production or supply focus: Xanthan gum alongside other food additives and chemical products.
What distinguishes it: Bergano supports low-MOQ purchasing and multiple SKUs in one container, provides specification sheets and SDS, and supplies a batch COA with shipments. Its purchasing process coordinates specifications, packaging and combined shipments through one contact.
Buying fit: Importers and distributors purchasing xanthan gum together with other ingredients, or comparing smaller initial quantities before repeat orders.
Buying details: Send your application, viscosity test method, particle-size requirement, quantities and destination. We confirm the final product mix, minimum quantities and dispatch timing in your quotation.
Meihua Group
Company role: Biological fermentation manufacturing group.
Production or supply focus: Food-grade and industrial-grade xanthan gum, alongside amino acids and other fermentation products.
What distinguishes it: Meihua describes a group-wide sales network covering 150 countries on its official international website. This is a group footprint, rather than a xanthan-only export figure. Meihua’s xanthan product information separates food applications from industrial and drilling-fluid applications. Its published R&D structure includes strain, process and application research, giving buyers a manufacturer to assess across both production capability and formulation requirements.
Buying fit: Buyers comparing food-grade xanthan for sauces, beverages or bakery products, and purchasing teams separately qualifying industrial material.
Buying details: The offered grade, product code, producing entity, application data and destination requirements. Match the quotation and COA to the specific grade rather than carrying food-use assumptions over to an industrial product.
Deosen Biochemical
Company role: Specialist hydrocolloid manufacturer based in Ordos, Inner Mongolia.
Production or supply focus: Xanthan gum under the Ziboxan and Zibozan brands, with other water-soluble hydrocolloids in its portfolio.
What distinguishes it: Deosen describes distribution in more than 70 countries on its official website. Deosen’s official company portfolio covers food and several industrial applications. Its published Ziboxan F200 specification identifies a fine-powder food-grade product and specifies viscosity in a defined potassium-chloride solution, illustrating the importance of comparing test conditions.
Buying fit: Buyers who want to qualify a named xanthan grade against particle-size, viscosity and application requirements.
Buying details: The current specification revision, test procedure, sample performance and batch documents. The linked specification is dated 2020; obtain the current version and applicable certificates before qualification.
Jianlong Biotechnology
Company role: Specialist xanthan and biological-colloid manufacturer in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia.
Production or supply focus: Xanthan gum and resistant dextrin, with food, oil-drilling and industrial xanthan applications presented in its official portfolio.
What distinguishes it: Jianlong’s product catalogue includes a salt-tolerant food-grade option. This provides a specific starting point for buyers whose formulations contain significant salt and who need to compare product variants.
Buying fit: Buyers evaluating xanthan grades for different formulation conditions, including salt-containing foods and separately specified industrial systems.
Buying details: The exact product code, salt medium and concentration used in testing, current technical sheet and sample results in the intended formulation. A salt-tolerant product name is a starting point for testing, not a performance guarantee for every recipe.
CP Kelco / Tate & Lyle, Wulian
Company role: China manufacturing operation within an international ingredient group.
Production or supply focus: Xanthan and diutan gum at Wulian, Shandong, as identified on Tate & Lyle’s official locations page.
What distinguishes it: CP Kelco became part of Tate & Lyle in November 2024. The group’s China presence also includes application and technical-service facilities in Shanghai, providing another route for buyers assessing manufacturing origin and formulation support.
Buying fit: Buyers evaluating China-made xanthan within an international supplier’s ingredient and technical-service offering.
Buying details: The actual manufacturing origin, grade, contracting entity and support available for the order. The group operates xanthan facilities outside China too, so a global product name alone does not establish Wulian origin.
Comparing the largest xanthan gum manufacturers in China
Fufeng’s reported 80,000-tonne annual designed capacity at the end of 2025 is a useful scale reference. It is a group-level capacity figure, distinct from actual output, exports or available inventory.
When assessing the largest manufacturers, compare figures from the same period and on the same basis. Separate operating capacity from proposed expansions, and avoid counting a group and its production subsidiaries as independent suppliers. This guide does not establish an industry-wide capacity ranking.
How to choose the best xanthan gum supplier for your application
The best supplier for an order is the one whose offered grade meets the formulation, quality and purchasing requirements. Build the comparison around the following checks.
1. Define the finished-product target
For sauces and dressings, describe the required pour, cling and suspension. For beverages, specify the desired mouthfeel and particle stability. For bakery applications, evaluate the recipe and finished texture in trials. For oilfield or other industrial use, issue a separate technical specification suited to that system.
These are different qualification tasks. Avoid selecting material solely because a listing says “high viscosity” or “food grade.”
2. Test dispersion and hydration on your equipment
Xanthan can dissolve in cold or hot water, but powder dispersion affects lump formation. Jungbunzlauer’s technical guide explains the importance of even dispersion and describes preblending with dry ingredients as one preparation route.
Compare samples using your actual addition sequence, mixer and mixing time. Record particle size and any readily dispersible treatment. A mesh number alone does not prove that two grades will hydrate identically on your line.
3. Compare viscosity using the same method
A viscosity number needs its test conditions. Ask for xanthan concentration, water or salt medium, hydration procedure, temperature, instrument model, spindle, rotation speed and measurement time. Brookfield’s measurement guidance emphasizes matching relevant instrument and test conditions for repeatable comparisons.
For example, Deosen’s published F200 sheet states viscosity for a 1% solution in 1% KCl. That result should not be compared directly with an unspecified water-only test. Agree on a shared incoming-inspection method before approving a replacement grade.
4. Evaluate flow and stability in the complete formulation
Xanthan solutions are shear-thinning, and their behavior can depend on concentration, salts and other ingredients. Test at the intended pH and salt level, with the relevant heating, cooling and storage conditions. Evaluate both processing flow and the finished product’s stability. The technical guide provides background on these properties; application trials establish suitability for your own formulation.
5. Agree on the quality documents and acceptance limits
Request the current specification, SDS and representative COA before approval, then a COA traceable to the shipped batch. Clarify the agreed moisture, particle-size and viscosity limits, plus microbiological and contaminant requirements relevant to the grade. Deosen’s published sheet illustrates that these are separate specification items and that some parameters may be periodically tested rather than measured on every batch.
Where your customer needs allergen, GMO, halal, kosher or other qualification documents, request the applicable evidence and check its product, site and validity scope. Do not infer a certification from a logo or a generic company description.
Factory direct or export supplier: which route fits your order?
Manufacturer sourcing for repeat single-grade demand
Direct manufacturer discussions can suit buyers with predictable volumes and a defined xanthan specification. Establish the production site, approved product code, sample-approval process and change-notification requirements. Compare delivered cost and commercial terms alongside the technical result.
Export supply for flexible and multi-product purchasing
An exporter can coordinate xanthan gum with other requested products, helping importers organize smaller quantities, several SKUs and shipment documents through one purchasing contact.
Bergano brings these requirements into one purchasing discussion: the xanthan specification, quantities for each product, packaging, documents and a workable shipment plan. Its low-MOQ and mixed-order services give importers a flexible route to building their order, with each combination reviewed before quotation.
